XV Beacon Hotel in Boston Premiers Guest App With Mobile Keys

Zaplox mobile guest journey enables hotel guests to use their phones to unlock their hotel rooms and to order room service.

XV Beacon Hotel, the celebrated boutique hotel with 63 rooms in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood in Boston is introducing a mobile guest app with mobile keys and the ability to communicate with the hotel staff, based on Zaplox’s mobile guest journey. After guests have checked in at the hotel, they can use their mobile phone to unlock the hotel room door, consequently removing the need to handle plastic key cards. The app’s chat feature makes it easy for guests to communicate with the hotel staff, make dinner reservations and order room service, providing access to high-class service with the option to stay in their room and reduce face-to-face contact with hotel staff and other guests. In addition, the guest app also has information about the hotel amenities and things to do in the area.

The guest app has been integrated with the hotel’s lock system from SALTO Systems and the ALICE operations platform for staff management and guest communication.

“XV Beacon’s priority is to ensure that our guests feel safe and comfortable from the moment they walk through our doors. Our team is committed to offering our guests the best quality in service and in light of COVID-19 we found it important to introduce a way we can serve our guests with limited face-to-face contact,” says Kara Smith, Director Sales & Marketing at XV Beacon Hotel. “Our new app allows guests to choose the level of interaction they want while still enjoying our award-winning cuisine, luxurious amenities, and high-quality personal service.”

“As hotels are opening back up, we are seeing a high demand for our contactless solutions and hotels are investing in digital solutions to improve efficiency,” says Magnus Friberg, CEO, Zaplox AB. “We are excited to help the XV Beacon Hotel to take the first step in its mobile guest journey and making guests feel safe and comfortable.
