Zaplox AB (publ) (“Zaplox”), which offers hotels and casinos a contact-free mobile guest journey for a safe and engaging guest experience, announced that the company’s partnership with Agilysys has resulted in another five major casinos and resorts investing in Zaplox’s mobile keys, which are included in Agilysys’ mobile guest solution rGuest® Express Mobile. The properties include Choctaw Casino, Shooting Star Casino, Win-River Resort & Casino, Northern Quest Casino and the PGA National Resort & Spa.
Initially, the agreements include a total of 794 rooms, but have the potential of 3,280 rooms as some are pilot projects and will only roll out the mobile key for use in a portion of the rooms in the first phase.
Zaplox’s key-centric SDK is integrated with Agilysys PMS and the properties’ lock systems from ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions and dormakaba.
The Agilysys and Zaplox partnership deliver a contactless mobile guest journey with mobile check-in/checkout and a mobile key, available directly on the guest’s phone. As a result, hotel guests can avoid the crowds in the lobby and go straight to their room, using their phone to unlock the door.
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the demand for a contact-free, mobile alternative to the traditional check-in and check-out process, which normally takes place in the hotel lobby. It is the focus on guest safety and social distancing that is driving the demand for a contact-free mobile guest journey.
In addition to providing a safer hotel stay, the mobile guest journey also allows hotels to provide higher quality services, regardless of when and where the guest requests the information.
“We are very grateful that our partnership with Agilysys is accelerating and generating several new hotel agreements in the United States,” said Even Frydenberg, interim CEO of Zaplox. “The American hotel industry is undergoing a rapid transformation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and our companies’ joint offering helps hoteliers to comply with the new safety requirements. Zaplox’s mobile key strengthens Agilysys’ mobile guest solution, particularly in the U.S. casino market, where Agilysys has many customers.”
