Partnership with Agilysys Generates More Customers for Zaplox Mobile Key in U.S. and Canada

Zaplox AB (publ) (“Zaplox”), which offers hotels and casinos a contact-free mobile guest journey for a safe and engaging guest experience, announced that the company’s partnership with Agilysys has resulted in the deployment of Zaplox’s mobile key at seven more hotels with a total of 2,330 rooms.

During the third and fourth quarter of 2020, the partnership with Agilysys generated 20 new customer agreements with a total of 7,500 doors for Zaplox. The new properties bring the total number of doors up to almost 10,000.

The new properties include Turning Stone Resort Casino (797 rooms), Grand Casino Mille Lacs (500 rooms), Banff Center (389 rooms), Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino (273 rooms), Blue Water Resort & Casino (200 rooms), Santa Claran Hotel Casino (122 rooms), and Eddy’s Taproom Hotel (49 rooms).

The new deployments are planned to go live in the first quarter of 2021.

Agilysys uses Zaplox’s key-centric SDK to add mobile key functionality to its guest app rGuestâ Express Mobile, allowing guests to use their own phone to unlock the hotel room door.  Zaplox Mobile Key integrates with BLE locks from dormakaba and ASSA ABLOY that are used at the properties.

The partnership between Agilysys and Zaplox enables a contactless mobile guest journey with contact-free check-in/checkout, mobile key, mobile access to hotel information, and the ability to communicate with guests directly through the app. As a result, guests spend less time waiting in line and more time gambling and enjoying the hotel’s amenities. Throughout the stay, guests have convenient access to the hotel’s services via the guest app.

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the demand for a contact-free check-in and checkout process that supports social distancing and provides a touchless user experience. In addition to providing a safer hotel experience, the mobile guest journey also allows the hotels to streamline their operation while providing guests higher quality service, regardless of when and where the they need something.

“Despite that many hotels have been closed or operated with limited capacity in 2020, our partnership with Agilysys has resulted in many new hotel customers for Zaplox during this time,” says Even Frydenberg, interim CEO, Zaplox. “As hoteliers and casino operators plan for increased occupancy, resolving the guests’ safety concerns has become a key priority. Zaplox’s mobile key strengthens Agilysys’ mobile guest offering, especially in the U.S. casino market, where Agilysys has many of its 3,000 customers.”
