Hotel Hugo, opened in 2014,  is an exclusive boutique hotel with 122 rooms in Manhattan’s upcoming and vibrant West SoHo area. Architect Marcello Pozzi’s design gives the hotel an industrial style with maritime-inspired interiors, overlooking the Hudson River. A rooftop bar and nightclub offer two floors of lounge space and panoramic views of New York and the river.

The Solution

Hotel Hugo teamed up with Zaplox to offer hotel guests a contact-free mobile guest journey that enables guests to skip the lines at the front desk. Instead, guests can use their phone to check in and unlock the hotel room door with a digital key. The mobile key eliminates the need to handle plastic key cards and reduces interaction with the front desk and other hotel guests in the lobby.

The app has been customized to match the Hotel Hugo brand and is fully integrated with Oracle Opera PMS and the lock system from ASSA ABLOY. In addition, integration with the ALICE Hotel Operations Platform enables guests to request concierge service and order room service directly in the app via chat.

The mobile app can be used to make dinner reservations or to order room service. It enables to guests to stay in their room while enjoying the hotel’s high-end services with the help of the app.
