Next House Copenhagen to offer contactless check-in/checkout and mobile keys with mobile guest app and a complementary self-service kiosk solution

 

Zaplox AB (publ.) (“Zaplox”), which offers hotels and casinos a contact-free mobile guest journey for a safe and engaging guest experience, announced that the hotel chain Arp-Hansen Hotel Group has once again chosen Zaplox Mobile Guest App and Zaplox Kiosk to be rolled out at Next House Copenhagen, the hotel group’s new luxury hostel in central Copenhagen. Next House Copenhagen, set to open in fall of 2021, will be Northern Europe’s largest hostel with 433 rooms and 1,650 beds.

Guests staying at the hostel will be able to choose between using a self-service kiosk to check-in or they can use their own phone for contactless check-in and checkout with a mobile key to unlock the hotel room. Both Zaplox’s guest app and kiosk solution will be integrated with hotel’s lock system from ASSA ABLOY as well as with the Oracle Hospitality Suite8 PMS.

Prior to the stay, guests will be prompted to download the app and can then use their phone for the entire check-in and checkout process as well as a mobile key. In addition, the app will provide mobile access to information about the hostel and things to do in the area, and guests can take advantage of special offers that can be communicated via the app.

Arp-Hansen Hotel Group is Copenhagen’s largest hotel chain with 13 properties and a total of more than 5,000 hotel rooms in central Copenhagen. Zaplox Mobile Guest App and Kiosk solution are already in use at the chain’s other luxury hostel, Steel House Copenhagen as well as at four Wakeup Hotel properties.

Just like Steel House Copenhagen, Next House Copenhagen will not offer a traditional front desk, but instead guests will have several digital check-in and checkout options, resulting in a smoother guest experience with less time wasted in line. As a complement to the app, guests can also use the Zaplox self-service lobby kiosks to check in and print out key cards.

New agreements have also been signed with Grand Traverse Resort & Casino (Michigan), Turtle Creek Casino and Leelanau Sands Casino (Michigan), and Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino (Iowa). In addition,  Island Resort & Casino (Michigan), a Zaplox mobile key customer since 2020, is adding another 183 rooms with mobile as more rooms have been equipped with BLE locks.

In total, the six new agreements add up to a total of 1,081 rooms.

The delivery includes Zaplox Key-Centric SDK, which will add mobile key functionality to Agilysys’ guest app rGuest Express with integration to Agilysys PMS and lock systems from dormakaba and ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.

Soon, hotel and casino guests at above referenced locations will be able to use their phones for check-in and checkout, and as a mobile key to unlock their hotel rooms. Furthermore, guests will have mobile access to hotel and casino information and they will also be able to take advantage of the hotel’s special offers that can be communicated in the new app.

The Bord of Directors of Zaplox AB (publ) (“Zaplox or “the Company”) has today appointed Even Frydenberg as permanent CEO of Zaplox. Even Frydenberg has been a board member of the company since 2019 and has since October 2020 been acting CEO when former CEO Magnus Friberg left his position.

“Since Magnus Friberg left his role as CEO last autumn, the board has had a structured process to evaluate the company’s needs going forward. During his time as acting CEO, Even has made a great impression on the board, and we are convinced that he is the right person to lead Zaplox growth journey. Even Frydenberg has vast experience in the travel- and hospitality industry, having worked in several countries and from three continents. Even has held several senior positions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International. His most recent role was as COO Franchise and Operational Support Europe for Marriott International while also being responsible for integration in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East when Marriott acquired Starwood. In 2017, he was appointed CEO of Scandic Hotels and held that position until January 2019. Even has studied international business administration, holds an MBA from Stanford University, and has previously worked as a financial controller in the United States.
